It’s pretty common to discharge overboard in the US along the Pacific and Atlantic coasts. It is done offshore and is perfectly legal. Most boats built by Tiara and headed for the coasts have holding tanks and macerators to give owners choice of where they empty the holding tank.Ah, so are there any laws about direct discharge, if not then leave the valve open I guess. Hard for me to say that though. So used to having a pump out boat or facility close by. For me it doesn't seem right to discharge overboard.
I still think a holding tank is best. It would let you discharge out in open water.
