Keep fresh water fresh

We never hook up to the dock water. We are lucky to have really great water at our marina thanks to their investment in a state of the art filtering system so it is good to drink.

I fill the tank using a hose with a home depot water filter attached (for good measure but not really needed). We do everything from the tank so that the water is contantly turning over and not getting old.

We don't add anything to the water. This works great for us.

#7...Water filter? I wonder if my boat has one...never looked and never saw one either.

I think this might be referring to the filter on the water pump, it could get clogged to extent stuff gets flushed out of the tank. Same story with the aeration screens on faucets.

There are water filters you buy and hook your hose into. Filtered water comes out a bib and you use another hose connected to the bib to fill your tank.

"Bleaching" the water system will sure do it, but you can't drink the water w/out flushing the system afterwards. I don't want to be bothered with all that, so I prefer to treat the water with a disinfectant that leaves it pure- and drinkable.
