Kalispera,
My wife and I did a motocycle tour of Greece last year from Athens around the Peloponese and back to Athens (10 days). I was amazed by the beautiful water. Every small town in which we stopped, I'd walk to the marina to check out the boats. You could always see to the bottom no matter how deep. It would make cleaning the bottom of my boat so easy. Love your country!!
We did a similar trip, Athens down the coast to Hydra, on a 50' catamaran. Various stops along the way, Poros, Spetses, Epidavros, among others. Great little towns and fantastic blue waters. I'll say this, med style mooring in a catamaran is a challenge, especially at a crowded port.
I was also surprised that, for an island nation, the most expensive thing on the menu was seafood. You should've seen the look on the waiter's face when we ordered one lobster each for eight of us. The manager even came out and asked if were sure we wanted that much. Yeah, it was expensive but not THAT much.
And what's with not having limes? I had to hunt at least a half-dozen markets before I could find anywhere that even sold limes. Pretty much made it impossible to make margaritas. Had to improvise and use OJ with pomegranate juice to make tequila sunrises instead.
