Just purchased a 260!

The checklist is very short now and I am on schedule to go get our boat Friday... I'll be sure to take that video for you folks, although it might have to be 1st thing in the am (like Christmas morning) as I'll be arriving late.

I'm making the trip from Atlanta to Lousiana (and back) on Friday- planning to leave EARLY for the 14+ hr round trip. Only issue are the trailer brakes which the survey showed were inop. The dealer says with a triple axle aluminum trailer and a 3/4 ton truck (F250 crew but 5.4) it will not be an issue... guess we'll see. The master on the surge brakes had no fluid so I did ask him to fill it up and check for leaks- if I can fix before the trip I'd like to. Otherwise it will be 55mph for me. Funny thing- I ordered a Prodigy brake controller and harness for my truck- then realized the trailer has SURGE brakes. :smt101

Also been doing some shopping... Garmin 788c (ebay) for under $500, new cockpit carpeting from Custom Marine Carpet ordered, plus looking for a cockpit cover.

Pretty excited!!

Get the dealer to bleed the trailer brakes (I use the hand vacuum pump) and get the brakes working. You need these brakes on the trailer working. You will be so much happier towing this way. My F-350 will stop our 260 but it is a$$ puckering!

If your wife is like mine she will love the 260! Best boat we have ever owned espically with the kids....I now get to stay on the water longer than 30 minutes before I hear...it's hot, I've got the pee, I wanna go home.....now I only hear fighting over which movie they want to watch....

Congrats!

Cockpit cover source is Great Lakes Boat Top Company - great to work with - provide serial number off of existing covers tag for exact match.

Congrats and welcome to the 260DA family. Definitely get the brakes fixed before you drag her back. Stopping is cool.
