This year July 4th is on a Wednesday....just curious which weekend most are designating for their BBQs.....or, are you just taking the whole week off and hangin' ....

Definately taking the whole week off! Rock Hall MD is celebrating its bicentennial this year and we have been promised quite a show at the fireworks on the third. Wouldn't miss it... Still up in the air about the rest of the week.

We are planning on watching a fireworks display for a local lake form the water this year. I am not looking forward to trailering her out of the water though 500+ boats, 14 ramps... Who knows how long that will take

Probably take the whole week off. Hopefully we will go back to Kelley's Island. The marinas are on the south end of the island and we can watch literally 5 or 6 cities fireworks show plus the show at Cedar Point at the same time.

Taking both weekends off and the entire week! This was a real struggle as I have my own business and the boss is a real PITA when it comes to time off.

Anyway, we will hang out at the marina, watch fireworks either at Kent Narrows, Chestertown and / or Rock Hall. Then cruise to St. Michaels for a stay from the 5th to the 8th.

Last half of the week off.

July? Which year? You guys can plan that far ahead? This military life is less flexible than I thought.

Precisely why I stood on the parade deck at Ft. Myer and retired in June 2006. 20 years was plenty.
Admiral much happier now that I am in private industry.

I guess I should take a turn and answer my own question....

For the last 7 years we have made tradition of celebrating the birthday of this great country at the Farley State Marina in Atlantic City. No special reasons other than the admirals like the relatively short run, good restaurants, the boardwalk, the new outlet stores, the outdoor bar/club and Oh yes...the gambling...

Last year, our new governor, shut down the state to make a point with his new budget, which must be balanced every year by July 1....or else...

Well, we originally thought that we would go down Wednesday, the 4th and come home that Saturday.....until two things happened....first, a Four Winns Club took all the transients for that time period and then we remembered the budget thinghy....so, this year we're celebrating the weekend before the 4th.....made our reservations yesterday for 4 boats.
