First and foremost, I want to explain "WHY" we purchased this for our boat which might help put some context around things:

* We purchased this cooler to keep beer, sodas and water cold. Sure, we have an inside fridge but that has limited space.
* We wanted something out in the cockpit (yes, I know, we're lazy).
* We wanted something we could run on electric and/or 12v (cigarette plug).

I've had this cooler now for a month and love it so much, we are purchasing another one. We're using the one in the cockpit strictly as a "fridge" by turning the temperature down to around 32*.

Our plan is to use another 53 quart in our alcove as a freezer only for when we take longer trips so we have more freezer space, doesn't use a crap ton of energy, also can be used with a solar panel if that's how you roll.

For those interested, here's a link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08318927Y/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Please note that I DO NOT get any money/compensation for this nor would I do that. I"m simply sharing my own personal experience with other boaters who might want a cheaper 12v/electric freezer/fridge.

ENJOY!

Regards,
Tim

Just wanted to report that we LOVE this unit so much we bought another. We use one as an extra fridge and the other as a spare freezer. Can't beat the price and they've been working flawlessly (knock on wood).

Thanks for posting. We might get a smaller unit for the cockpit. I think for our current some weekend only use we might stay with ice in the cooler method. Would work well with longer cruises and more quests I think.
Cold drinks on hot Bay days are one of lifes pleasures.

We have one of these as well and it is great for transporting food from the house to the boat then we keep it up on the bridge with beverages and snacks
