I just wanted to give you folks a heads up that Jescar Power Lock Plus is an AMAZING sealant.

This stuff takes the place of traditional wax and is supposed to last much longer. It comes from Germany which usually means it's half decent. You apply the stuff by hand or with a machine, let it dry for 30 minutes, then buff off.

I applied this yesterday and it came off with ease. I've never seen my boat shine so well before! Typically the compounding/polishing bring back the shine, then the wax seals it in. I actually noticed that the sealant here takes the polishing shine to a whole new level.

They also have a Ultra Lock Plus which is supposed to be Ceramic based. I haven't used that yet but would be interested to hear if anyone else has?

See my results below using Jescar Medium polish followed by Power Lock Plus. Definitely impressed. It's going on the car next.

As far as I am concerned there is no silver bullet…. I have used the Jesscar power lock….it did a nice job…… the sonax cut max was a nice product as well….. compounding is as good as the shine is going to get …the polish and sealant just preserves the compounding shine…. I believe nothing works more than one season….. throw out collinite ….no luck with their products

Thanks Doug, this is what the detailer will be using on my boat next week. I had to look it up when he told me that's what he uses, it gets good feedback.

Looks like you ended up doing this job yourself at the dock after all.

I did the weekend driver car for the first time a couple weekends ago

Agree, no silver bullet. Coming from other products, this one was by far better looking at the end.

Sealant is not a wax. It will be short lived

You are mistaken. Waxes have been replaced by sealants. They offer better long term protection. Go to autogeek and you can read about the technical aspect for days.
Hey would love to be proved wrong. You see the countless posts claiming to have found the holy grail witches brew. If you look this next spring 2024 and don’t have to do a single thing but wash, report back. you obviously did a lot of good prep to the surface which has given you a great luster.

I'm skeptical as well but I think this appears to be the next evolution in protection and shine. The stuff I put on my car said 7 years, now I'm not buying that marketing.

Let me clarify...I will still have to buff next year. What sealants do vs wax is keeping you from applying every 2-3 months. That's average time that a caranuba wax will last. Sealants will last 2-3x as long. Look at ceramic coatings. That's a sealant and they are undeniably better than waxes. I had that on my C7 vette and literally a quick wash and blow off and the vehicle looked like it rolled off the show room floor.

Sounds interesting but how does it differ from the other polymer sealants that are already out there like Meguiars Flagship or Shurhold Pro Polish?

Isn’t the the meguires a wax?

I know they call it a "wax" but they refer to it in detail as "polymer protection". Polymer protection tends to be a sealant - although I could be misinterpreting this.

It's hard to find much additional info other than marketing stuff.

Maybe. I use the cleaner wax and it's ingredients say wax. The past version says wax as well.

I did the hull with it, but wasn't completely satisfied. I am going to try the starbrite polymer sealant on the topside and see which I like better.

There seems to be a lot of "marketing" that is confusing the lines of what is Wax, Sealants and Polishes. Not to mention the average end user probably does not know the difference they just think "Wax".

Yeah. Either way it sux putting in on and wiping it off. :)

Went up to the boat today to install new anodes while she was out of the water for bottom painting and detailing. I am impressed with Jescar, even more impressed with the 2 guys on step ladders running their Makita polishers, and not me :) My hand may get tired writing the check...
