Jersey Boys

Is that Jim Gardner doing the intro?

Its been 30 years since I lived up there. That guy has been there for ever.

As for the beaching..... Ouch! Thats gonna leave a mark. They think alcohol was involved? Really?

This is almost funny. We were docked next to this guy at "Water Street" in Toms River Saturday night. We got to the bar at about 8 for a few drinks and he was staggering around the dock saying he was leaving but needed about 20 more minutes to "pick up" a few of the "single chicks" at the bar so he would have some company for the evening. We left the place about an hour and half (9:30) later and this clown was still looking for a companion and needed another 20 minutes. He must have been right behind us!

Went back to the same place on Sunday afternoon and noticed this 40 footer in the weeds on the South side of the river.........never put the two together until I saw this article !!! Seems the marine Police are never around when you really need them !!!!! My guess is that we will now have more patrols than necessary and every boat leaving a waterfront bar will be stopped and boarded......Oh well!

I know Ann, the owner of the home. She owns a local realestate company on route 9 in town. My wife used to work for her. She ALWAYS has her dog with her. She's a very nice woman.

We were at Water Street Sunday for Father's Day dinner. Mostly Go-fast types at the dock. I guess it's becoming the 'new Water's Edge'. Pretty soon you're gonna need at least three gold chains around your neck to get a table there. I love the renovations that they did to the restaurant.

We were at Water's edge on Saturday night around 10pm. The water taxi guy warned us that the marine police were staking out the river for people coming out of Water Street.

I generally see that boat traffic at these type of places really falls off as dark approaches; but there is no shortage of boats operating on full plane at night on the weekeneds (very few stay at displacement speeds).

BTW: 5 years ago, water access to this restauraunt was quite poor, and there was very little water at the docks. Has this been improved? May want to try this place in the coming weeks.

Just an FYI. There is a poker run this Friday morning 8:00 AM from Toms River to Atlantic City. I believe the launch point is at the head of Toms River. My next door neighbor is running in it with his 3,000 hp 40 foot skater.

Dom,
The renovations are great and the place is much nicer than it was when it was the Lobster Shanty. The food is OK (bar food....It'll never make Zagets) but the appetizers are really good and they have an extended happy hour for apps at 1/2 price. When the sun goes down and all the Toms River gum chewing débutantes dress up for the evening in their age inappropriate cloths, and the place gets loud and develops a North Jersey flair (sorry all you North Jersey guys....but you know what I mean). I actually stayed on the boat Saturday night and enjoyed one of my Coors N/A's while the rest of the crew screwed up their hearing inside. All in all a great improvement.....we'll have to keep it quite, like the secret spot on Barnegat Bay........
