There seems to be an interest in Jeep products. I have created this post to facilItate discussions regarding these sport utility Vehicles. Please feel free to contribute, especially if you own a jeep product and a Sea Ray 280 da

I hope I don't hi-jack your thread but I never owned a Jeep or a 280DA. I did have a new 240DA that was a bear to drive but I traded for a 300DA instead. The 300DA was a much more stable boat but...that's another story.

jeeps and morons

thanks for writing.....so tell me about your 240 DA....sounds like you were frustrated as well

HEY, this is about jeeps, not 240's. I don't care about your tipping problems. I can post in two threads at a time. why can't my jeep handle like my 68 vw fast back, huh? now that's a question for you. my fast back was a good 1' longer. way more stable than my jeep. could take those corners much faster and burn less gas too. My jeep and all jeeps are a plague on humanity.

Wouldn't that be a rude thing to do on a thread about Jeeps?

I've got a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited that I plow with to make my 'boat' money.

I used to have a 280da AND have previously owned 4 Jeeps over my lifetime. I don't own any of them now. I have never owned a 240da.

Just thought I'd share.

I currently pull my boat with a 2002 Grand Cherokee. Over the years, I've also owned 2 Wranglers and a Cherokee Sport.

we've owned 4 Jeeps, all Cherokees, and have had very good luck with them.

we've moved to a chrysler 300 see-dan awd and a 4x4 pickup so we've moved away from jeeps. nothing wrong with jeeps, just changed our minds about what we want.

chrysler is a customer of mine, so i stick with their brands.

I've got a Grand Cherokee, makes my boat gas milage look good. Ya, it's a hemi.

Sometimes in the morning it won't move for a few seconds when I put it in reverse. It just sits there unitl it catches. Any hints?

Why am I asking this in CSR?

I do own a 240 DA found it was a bit touchy of a ride and finally broke down and learned how to drive it.... It does fine now. Jeeps, not my thing. I prefer my ATV. But I do wonder at times if it is as stable as a jeep???

Hmmm, Am I highjacking by mentioning a ATV in this thread??? :smt101

jrcinnh, how cold is it when you have trouble with reverse? In really cold weather reverse doesn't work well until the tranny is warm. In really cold places, most folks parking outside park so they can put the car in forward when just starting out in the cold.

The reverse thing has only been happening a few months, so it's not a cold like winter thing. It is a cold, like not warmed up yet thing.

you should sell it and get a diesel.

Diesel, just what I need a tail gate full of soot and an engine that sounds like a bucket of marbles.

I'm not trying to start a war here, just joking around, blaspheming Saint Diesel can be dangerous on a power boat forum.

I think I'd have the fluid and filter changed...
