Seeing if someone could help me out. By my user name I'm a FSU alumni and football season ticket holder. As some of you might know it looks like Bobby Bowden will be retiring today and there are rumors that the Gator Bowl will pick FSU to face West Virginia (where he coached earlier in his career) to honor Bowden. If so, we'd like to go up for the game and stay on our boat.

What marinas are the best location for this? I'm thinking we would like to be somewhat close to the stadium as well as the Landings, as this a New Year's game so we'd be up for New Years eve and all the festivities. If I remember right I think there was a marina almost across from the Landings just don't remember the name. Any help would be appreciated as I would like to reserve a slip soon as I"m sure they'll go fast if this happens.

Thanks!

Look here if the link does not work, google River city brewing Jacksonville, Fl

Just a heads up.

There are rumors about at times docking can be a challenge here thought ue to the current with the tide changing.

Thanks for the info. Called and they still had some slips avaialable, so it looks like we'll be up there for New Years Eve and New Years dad for the game. Should be fun, nothing like going to a college football game by boat and celebrating New Years

Here is another place which rents slips, At least they did for the Florida Georgia game and they stayed pretty empty, about 1/2 to 2/3 rds full though they are about $50.00 more a night. It is on the same side of the river as the landing, about 1/4 mile East of the landing. You can see the stadium from the slips, maybe 3/4 mile.

Once you turn out of the river, you leave the current, the only stumbling block here at times is the wind coming from the east

Here is a picture, look above the word 'Encore" Another link The Landing is port and the staduim is starboard.

If it was me, I would pay the extra $50.00 per night and stay here.

How about the Metropolitan Park Marina? As I remember it; the stadium is right across the street from the park. I worked the Jacksonville Jazz Fest for years before I had a boat and I remember how cool it was that all the boaters would dock at that marina for the Jazz Fest and party for the week end. Just a thought, I have not been there in years and never by boat.

I do not know, one would have to call. They have no shore power, and I think they lock the outside gates at 7:00 PM. I know for the Florida-Georgia game, one had to be registered for a lottery drawing for slips.

For myself I would just make a reservation at one of the other locations and pay the money.

Check here for more info

Few other quick questions before booking,

Of the Berkman Plaza and River City, which is closer to the stadium?

Looks like Berkman is a very nice place (facilities wise), do you know if River City has showers, etc?

I know River City is a great place for New Years (think we hung out there a few yrs ago for New Years).

Also if we stayed at River City, is it within walking distance to the stadium?

Lastly when you were talking about the current being bad at River City, your talking about just docking right? If so we go up to St Augustine a lot and I know it's pretty bad there, I would imagine it couldn't be that much worse, and I'll have help getting in.

Thanks for all the help, we'll be booking my slip Monday am after the official word comes out tomorrow on the bowl game.

Do you know of any other numbers for this marina, I've tried all the numbers I can find and they are all disconnected? I looked where it's at and it seems to be the best location of all of them unless they are just sky high rate wise. River City is $3/ft.

For River City I was talking about Docking. Berkman is much closer to the staduim, i tis about 1/4 Further West then Metropolitian, both are on Bay Street which runs by the staduim's riverside entrances.

I will see if I can locate another number for Berkman from Lambs Yacht Center.

I went straight to their office and inquired about contact and other information

Posting may remove the formatting, but you should be able to understand what is needed.. They have a registration form. I can send it to as .pdf if you send me a PM with an email address to send it back to, two attachments.

Hello All!
I’m looking for help.
Does anyone have a boat they keep at a marina in Jacksonville that myself and my co- captain (Lori) could use to sleep when we attend the Florida Georgia Game?
We only need the One night.
And I’ll gladly either pay or swap the privileges to my boat which is in Stuart.
Thanks!
My email is mtommeraas@janney.com
