FJB wants congress to drop the federal gas tax for 90 days help people make it through the summer with cheaper gas.

Why the hell didn't he do that 3 months ago and make it last for 6 months?

Average Federal tax per gallon is .15c-.20c. But retailers will increase price to the stations so the prices will go down about as much as when Brandon sipped the strategic reserves.

It’s a political gimmick and I hope folks don’t fall for it like w masks and vaccines.

That would save me Fed tax @ $.15 x 26 = $3.90 at 26 gallons for the truck. Current gas price average $5 x 26 = $130 if my math is correct. $126.10 yipeeee.....

El C I suspect what they will do is send out debit cards with a specified limit. It would almost have to be based on the amount of mileage a person drives per month. Me? I only drive about 50,000 miles a month.

I hope they don't send debit cards. Start messing around with that and it'll cost us taxpayers more to get the cards out than the 3 month tax holiday will save. I'd think if they're smart they'd just tell the gas stations not to collect the federal fuel taxes.

Along with that there are the state fuel taxes, they vary by state but averaged out it would be higher than the federal fuel tax rates. Together hundreds of billions of $$$$ collected each year, makes a person wonder why everything is in such horseshit shape.

But Joe understands, people been cooped up because of Covid, they want to get out...the fuel tax holiday is like a gift from him to you, 26gals X .18 is almost $5 each fill up. Do that every week during the 3 month tax holiday and you're talking almost 60 bucks.

Because Joe 'gets it' you'll have this awesome windfall and fun filled summer...psst, you got to think of this like a Dem, there's potential here for more, just burn more gas.
