It's Official - 2009 Sea Ray Pachanga!

What is the title of this thread "IT'S OFFICIAL - 2009 SEA RAY PACHANGA!" If it was official you would think there would be some facts to back it up.

So the facts that we provided regarding the boat is based on the Hammer X,

What/Who is Hammer X ???

Who said anything about not being interested in the boat?

I was going to stay out of this one but could it not be a concept boat (like you see every year at the auto shows for different vehicles). Have you "Heard" that they are being produced, where they are getting produced, etc. According to your theory every concept car I see at an auto show is going to be on the market this year.

To answer your question however I am not in the market for one, because until I see one for sell they are not for sell, two would not really fit my use.

The Hammer X is the Baja boat that the Pachanga shares its lower hull design with; apparently you were not aware of all the facts that we have given...

That is a good point. The only thing is if it was purely a concept boat, they would have done a one-off top deck design. They spent the time however to not only create the top deck plug, but also a mold for it; if it was not production bound they would not have taken all of those steps. That would have just been un-needed and costly. If this would have been a hand made boat with one-off production techniques being used, then it would have been very much like a concept car and your statement would be completely true. FYI, boat companies do not build concept boats and then take the time place all the legal placards on the boat, nor do they do an official catalog photo shoot... :)

We merely have been trying to offer up information to the general public before SR offered info to even their dealer network. Doubt all/any of it that you want, time will indeed tell. We are perfect with our facts to this point though, right down to the color of the hull...

I thought what I read on the website was that they did not have to create a mold because they just used the Baja mold  Again please understand I am not trying to say you guys are wrong, just you would think if Sea Ray had made up there mind that they were going to be producing the boat for 2009 they would be making announcements themselves to get the buzz up. Unless you are Sea Ray and they tricked me again. :smt043

DISCLAIMER:

I have not physically been to the internet so I cannot say for certain that the catalog photo above actually exists.

Furthermore,

I cannot confirm that my web site or any other web site actually exists. Also, since I have not been to the internet, I cannot confirm then that we are actually having this conversation.

No, I completely understand where you are coming from. They used the hull mold from the Baja Hammer X, not the deck (top) mold. Everything from the rub rail down is identical to the Baja boat, everything above is a deck design that was being carried out at Bucyrus up to the point Baja was sold to Fountain. At that point, the plug (solid wooden piece used to create the mold) was sent down to SR PD&E in Florida where it was finished and the mold was made.

As far as buzz, they will start doing that once the boat has been officially unveiled. Sea Ray wanted to surprise even the dealers with this one, and it seems our efforts have hindered this. I sent those spy photos to my local dealer, who in turn sent them to Sea Ray. The reply they got back was copied to some very important people in SR, especially at their PD&E (Product development and engineering) facility, and they were not thrilled "spy photos" had gotten out.

Wes, this is not confirmed however, I have heard that a major boat magazine was looking for an exclusive and had assurances from Sea Ray that they would keep it under wraps. Don't quote me, this is only a rumor...but it certainly would explain a lot of the secrecy thus far.

Great points guys. Nobody is doubting you just wanting to get some fact. Personally I'm very interested since this looks like the only closed bow/cuddie sport boat Sea Ray is going to be offering in 2009.

I think there will be a decent number of us interested, until we hear the asking price... :smt043

My bet is still 80k with the 496 ho, anyone else care to guess?

Yes, I would not be surprised and the justification I'm guessing will be:

It's a limited production high perf. sport boat.

That will be very upsetting, since I can go get a brand new hand built 24' Pantera with a 496 HO for the same price. Sea Ray builds a good boat, but not that good...

I'm in the market for a new boat right now. Going to trade in my 250 SD and get something a lil more fun and less maintenace (no cabin). I was looking at the 22 Pachanga y'day, one of the first 100. I'm wondering everyone's thoughts if it's worth getting one? Getting one of the first 100 or waiting till next year when they make them in black and yellow. I don't view a boat like a car but also am no expert so not sure if the "First" 100 is really a big deal and its worth paying up for it. Think it will hold its value better? Also could get a 23' Baja Outlaw right nwo with a 496 for the same price...so more engine and a foot bigger. Any thoughts or advice I'd appreciate.
