It's almost boating season for much of the country

I was running all 3 engines today to heat the oil for oil changes and while they were running I was cleaning the cabin. I hear a loud alarm go off and couldn't figure out what it was until I started getting a headache. Guess what it was? My co detector! I left the slant canvas up while everything was running and my baby tried to gas me! Not very nice

i can't get the stains out of the vinyl in my cockpit so i am going to go by Dollar General and get 10 cans of white spray paint and paint the seats....
....

HAHAHAHAHA

I did this to a boat I sold,
but I sold it for really cheap so ....

I usually just leave the engine running and sleep the headache off:smt043

I could never figure out if the headache was from CO, or all the beers I drank!

i have had as much fun with this thread as anybody, but we may want to delete it from the archives once it runs its course....you never know when someone will search a subject and pull up post from this thread...we all know the thread is in jest but someone else out there may not and take some of the light hearted replies as being sound advice and could possibly bring harm to themselves or their boats....

just a thought....

That's easy. Just do the "sleep test". If the headache is caused from the beer you will feel a bit better when you wake up. If the headache is from CO poisoning then you won't wake up, and then you will know.

Extremely GOOD thought too Cliff. I didn't think of the damage this could do in the event that someone was searching for real advice. OR, if someone from one of the other forums was to stumble upon just a few of the posts without reading the whole thread. It has helped to while away a bit of time as we wait anxiously for the warmer weather,,,,,, so we don't have to use our EU 2000's in the engine rooms and can re install them on our swim platforms. (I can't help it !!)

Hey let those Bayliner guys figure this stuff out on there own. These are extremely helpful hints we're all giving.

Bayliner owners can't read and certainly cannot conduct an internet search so we are safe there.....

It's are duty to stop the less intelligent to ever making it to the water to stop them from harming them selfs or someone else. Oh ya just one more question should I warm the motor up before I put it in the water and does revving it make it heat up quicker?

you don't want to warm the engines while at the dock before launching....that would be bad manners....the others at the ramp don't want to hear that loud noise and smell those exhaust fumes or the fumes from the melting water pump impeller.....just back the boat down the ramp as soon as you get there and start prepping the boat to launch while on the ramp....this should not take more than 10 - 15 mins....then un-hitch the boat from the trailer and drift out just in front of the dock before you attempt to start the engine.....if you run into any issues starting the engine the other boaters are usually forgiving and understand what you are going through.....they will patiently wait to launch or retrieve their boats until you get your boat prepped and launched and the engine started and move the boat away from the ramp....trailer boaters are some of the nicest people you will meet...

if the engine does start set the rpm's to around 3,000 and let the engine warm up for about 10 mins....

It's OUR duty also

Haha haha I wasn't joking lol that actually happened! I always do something stupid in the beginning of the season. Last 2 years was running ground first trip out so hopefully this was my dumbass mistake of the year

Just an idea to save time. Leave the trailer attached to the boat and just unlatch the ball. It saves alot of time loading and unloading. (Believe it or not I've seen this done)

Anybody stupid enough to seek sound advice from a thread in the Tiki Bar deserves it..... Speaking of, where's our resident smart azz been? Haven't been any "new" dumb threads started over here (except this one) for a while? Did he get another time-out?
