i have posted here before about our intention to dry stack our boat next year at Holiday Marina on Lake Norman....after a very nice afternoon of boating on LKN this past Sunday we decided to swing by Holiday Marina on the way home and look things over.....while we were there we decided to have dinner at the Rusty Rudder restaurant which is right beside the marina....we got off to a good start with the very first parking space beside the front door being open....there was a decent crowd, probably around 50 - 60 people with a small band playing music....the weather was nice so we got a seat out on the upper deck....the nice waitress came by and took our order and said they were running a contest for Panthers/Lions football tickets this coming WE...all we had to do is sign up....no cost involved...so we filled out the ticket and forgot about it....we got our food (which was very good) and was relaxing on the deck watching the boats out in the cove where the marina is located....at half time of the Panthers/Buccaneers game they announced the winner of the Lions tickets and i'll be damned if we didn't win them.....so to recap the evening, we liked what we saw at the marina, we got a great parking space at the restaurant, we enjoyed the food, and we won Panthers football tickets.....we even got our picture on the Facebook page for the restaurant....
it must be destiny for us to move our boat there.....:smt038......

Great story!!!! I’m glad for you! That IS destiny!!!

Matt

Way to go! Yup, I'd be buying some lottery tickets for the next drawing. Maybe your luck will continue.

Great story you'll love dry rack storage at least we do never need to worry about storms or freezing weather, we use our boat year around the boats always pulled the next day power washed, engine flushed & put back into minimum 50* storage with backup generators in case power goes out. We've never had a need to winterize it 4 years.

So Cliff, I was on the lake today. Stopped by your new marina. I looked for your boat, but couldn't figure out which one was yours. I checked out the small slips, and they are all assigned. Nice marina. I saw only one lone person sitting on their boat. Kinda lonely. haha

Mike,
we are actually at The Boat Rack marina now that we have the 340. When i made this post we still had the 215EC and planned to dry stack it at Holiday Marina. We like Holiday Marina but they do not have any covered slips.

If you look at the docks at Boat Rack from the water we are in the 'D' dock which is the dock all the way on the right side. We are the 3rd slip from the right in 'D' dock. This dock is actually for bigger boats than the 340. it has 16' x 44' slips. That is the only slip they had open at the time we bought the 340. We hope to move to either 'B' or 'C' dock in the spring. These docks are 14' x 34' which is the right size for the 340.

We had our family Christmas gathering at our house this WE so we did not make it out to the boat. We do plan to spend this coming WE on the boat. Probably will be out there some time late Friday afternoon. I got a few things for the boat from Santa for Christmas and want to get them installed this WE.

Too bad the Panther tickets screwed up the evening. :smt043

Hey just kidding. Hope you have a great time on LKN this summer.

Bill,
We had a GREAT time on Lake Norman this year. The waterfront restaurants are nice and the lake is so large we only got to really explore part of it this year. The 340 will take our boating experience to a new level. We are already finding excuses and ways to spend more and more time on the boat.

i did catch the last quarter of the panther game on TV....It just boggles my mind that a team with a losing record can possibly win a division. ....:smt101.....don't get me wrong, i am glad the local team is able to stretch out the season but it has not been a good year for the panthers....

Wish I was there with you in NC mate. Miss the great weather and outdoors living in the mountains. Stay warm down in the Piedmont this winter my friend.

Cliff I posted this in the wrong thread. I was at your marina, The Boat Rack. I didn't go over to the big boat slips though. I'll catch up with you one of these days.
