It is funny what a couple of members can do to a board / forum

What a great thread! I'm going to be able to use a lot of bunny pictures. Here are some more nuts.

I don't have one with a big red target. Would you settle for a big red pepper?

It really cleans the place up around here.
Gary is a GENIUS!

The problem here is the dearth of maturity and decorum.

Until this reply I was surprised that the Head Pot Stirrer hadn’t augmented the discussion with his repartee. He is now my hero!

Please add “wingless” to your Fiends and amyl list!

Back to the topic, which was an attack on a member, with the accusation of being a Troll.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troll(Internet)

This is the definition: “An Internet troll, or simply troll in Internet slang, is someone who posts controversial, inflammatory, irrelevant or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum or chat room, with the intention of provoking other users into an emotional response or to generally disrupt normal on-topic discussion.”.

With this definition, how is this topic anything other than an example of being a Troll? Isn’t this an inflammatory and controversial topic, intended to disrupt and provoke others?

*Sorry Frank the first post was gramatically correct but it got erased and I am not typing again.*

And yet here the broken record goes again...how we do not run a good forum and obey our own rules that we created. So I ask again why do you come here? We don't usually do this but there are several boating boards out there that you can go try out and see if they run better boards. Some others would argue that they do. You could go to boater ed.com (without the space) or I hear there is a board called boatus.com. I am sure that you can find someone to argue with on one of those boards. A couple of members come to mind, I think even one of those memers had nuts in his name too.

Since there are two members out of our 5,000 that insist that I am not answering your questions which honestly I do not feel like you want an answer to.....if you did you would be asking questions offline like what do you think I did wrong...why do you feel people do not like me....what could I do to get this target off my back....instead I keep opening up post with here are the rules and the owners and moderators suck at enforcing them....and naturally the first thing that comes to my mind is how can I help this guy out, but I have yet to find a solution for you, I will keep thinking. But to answer your question, the intent of this thread was to get members to stop responding to any trolls that we may have on the board. You assumed that by trolls I was talking about you and then instead the post turned into me answering the same question and reading the same post from you over and over again.

I am closing the thread and I ask all members of the board that if you care about this board at all to not to respond in any way if any trolls (not saying that we have any) were to post questions that you would think were looking to be confortational with someone even if that person were to include Jim or the moderators of this board. We do not need anyone defending us and in fact ask that you don't. I am not going to be online for a couple of days and with Jim having their new child he does not need to be dealing with this. Thank you in advance for cooperating with this request....I also will not be responding to this question anymore wingless.
