Now. After fishing, I met wife after her work at corner bar. She got me grilled Chick-fil-A and onion rings. tomorrow we taking zodiac to tiki bar. Sunday cross bay one last time to shanty bar watch ravens. Then Tuesday boat gets hauled to fix prop seal leak.
After that the world is my oyster. Huge plans for fall boating under colored trees. Life is great.

Good friend of mine retired early at 58 this year. I asked him other than some of the different things he's doing with his life what's the biggest change, and like you said, he said he's calm and relaxed now.

Reading this post I keep thinking to myself we're all chasing retirement and want to do it soon, but what's on the other side? By then we're too damn old and broken down physically to enjoy it.

I was on the path to retire at 50 or 55 before the 2007 recession mess and then a divorce right after that.

Well, I been thru a pile of shit. Heart attack in 2010, house burned down in 2014 it’s new now. 2017 first dui, 2020 cancer, beat that bitch. tough old bird. Fortunately I got a 42 year marriage to a good woman (burns Omaha steaks) who tolerates my boating.
my dad is 94 and mom pushing 90. Still rocking. Good Sicilian genes.

Congratulations on your retirement. I didn't wait that long I got out on my 65th birthday.
