Issues with Twin V6s in a 2005?

Can't speak about the power for that particular boat. Regarding the 4.3 V6 in general, it is a solid motor, it is essentially a 5.0 V8 minus two cylinders. The one week spot in these motors is the timing chain cover - it is a composite material and matches up to the metal oil pan and shares a seal with the oil pan in the front. Eventually almost all of them leak oil from that location - in a boat it is impossible to repair without removing the engine. Mine leaks a little from that spot, not much though so I just put an oil absorber in the bilge, wipe down that area periodically and just live with it. Otherwise I have 700 trouble free hours on my 4.3. As far as the outdrive, Bravo III is a nice drive, great performer, but you have to watch the potential for corrosion if you keep it in the water.

It does look nice from the pictures.

Twin 4.3 will be fine. I have been on a 30’ with twin 4.3 and it was ok. Loaded to capacity with people cargo and fuel you will be deep in the tabs, so consider how often that is a likely scenario.

we had a 28 LWL with twin 3.8 boat had upper and lower helm. drove it at 3800 RPM at 22 knots. put 1,400 hours on engines all was fine.

Thank you all!
