Is there such a thing as a boat bike rack?

How is it even possible to compare a Bike (usable amenity) to a pig on a boat? If you travel how else are you supposed to get around the small towns you tie up in or anchor and dinghy to shore in?

Bikes on boats! Yes a must have ,do you know how far it is from the moorings in East Tawas to the private bath/shower houses provided to transient dock renters?I like fergson dont like to use onboard facilities either .Actually on a trip from detroit to New York we put our mountain bikes on the bow and our two electric scooters on the cockpit ,they fit perfectly behind the bridge stairs .Of course the 40 silverton was a bit larger than the 300 we.There were a few 3-4 day stops on our route and the bikes were quite necessary to see the histoical sites along the erie canal.PLEASE STOP THE PIG MASSACRE!!!!!!!

After reading through 8 pages, I guess the answer is "no, there's no bike racks for boats". I agree that for the purpose of providing helpful info, if someone really has the answer, may be it's better to have it in a different thread.

Yeah, apparently it was easier to find the answer about pig racks vs. boat racks, b/c we’ve had threads on boat racks before and I haven’t seen much. But I’ve learned so much about pig racks just by reading one thread :lol: Oh, and clean rivers....and why the salt water is bad.....and much more. So, it actually turned out to be "very educational thread".LOL

I'm going to the Toronto boat show on Monday and there are a number of distributer of bikes at the show, I will ask them about bike racks for boats.

As for the pig, I think the rack for them is called a spit.

Gary you have to give credit to someone that has come up with a way to keep food for their ditch bag that does not require refrigeration.

LA, it seems as though most threads you join in the conversation you start something or react to someone. Maybe if you just read, provide useful comments or helpful information you won't be teased so much. I for one grow tired of the constant bickering. This thread started with a good question regarding carrying bikes on a boat and between you, Capt Sundancer and the pig it ends up being a long drawn out thread that takes and hour to get through... just my opinion.

You seem like a nice person with a true love for boating, maybe if it stays with that you will have more success here.
