Is there anyone on their boat in the Carolinas?

Hey ZZ,
Where do you keep your 300 at in Beaufort? I spend a lot of time in that area, my daughter goes to USCB.
The 300DA hasn't made it to Beaufort yet. Its at our primary residence in Northern Virginia. The 175 Sport is garaged in the now secondary, but soon to be primary, residence in Royal Pines on Lady's Island. We are still hunting for the best place to slip the 300DA once we cruise it down her, and have Dataw Marina as the leading candidate right now. My son went to USCB for his first year a couple of years ago, then transferred to Virginia Tech.

Hey ZZ, Lived there in the 90's. We miss it very much and vacation there every couple years. I had a heavy equipment repair business there and did some work on some of the boat engine at the marina. Do you go to the blessing of the fleet? If so maybe I'll see you next year.
Haven't been to the blessing of the fleet yet. I am here only very part time. We came to Beaufort for the first time in 2006 for something to do one day while visiting my parents at Sun City. We like it so much we decided to live here permanantly one day and are in the process of getting that all set up. Hope to be here, for the most part, full time starting in 2013. The small town life style after 40ish years in the nation's capital can't come soon enough. Not sure what to do about this bravoIII in salt water thing with the 300DA. I may just run it until they are expended and then put Seacore replacements on, or may cash in both the 300DA and the 175 Sport for a 310 or 320 with V-drives. But I am in love with the performance of the stern drives and don't know if I am a v-drive kinda person.

Have you checked on Port Royal Landing Marina, their rates seem to be pretty good. Dataw is nice as well. I hope to be slipping on in the area in the next year or two.

You can dry stack at Dataw!

We plan on moving to that area in the next 1-2 years. All I have to do is dump all this real estate I own up here!

I did. Also talked to the folks at the Downtown Marina and Lady's Island Marina (slips are for sale there, as well). Your dry stack at Dataw idea is a good one. I need to learn more about dry stacking terms and whether I lose too much ability to spend time on the boat when not cruising it.

I finally got my boat back from the shop. The windlass works great, I really like the wireless control.

I ran around lake Norman friday, it was great. I needed the fix. I could not live where the lake or waters freeze over. I ran into CSR member Scootdog at midway marina, he was working on his boat. So it rained alittle, was nice alittle, and I enjoyed it all anyways. Today I spent the entire day cleaning out and stowing gear. Boy it's amazing how much stuff gets onboard.

Oh, I want to mention, a tune up does a world of good for performace. This is the first time I changed the plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor in the 6 years I've owned this boat. The power is back! The boat jumps on plane much faster, and I was watching the fuel flow meter. It burns about 1 gallon per hour less. To think I almost didn't do the maintenance. I felt like the engine ran fine. It never missed a beat, and felt like everything was good. Boy was I wrong.

So, it was a good day. Got alot of maintenance done that I have been putting off. Maybe I won't wait so long before I do it again. Even if it seems like it runs fine! haha

Going today. Hopefully going to buy a trailer for Wine Down I. That'll get out of the water and maybe a better chance to sell.

Mike, missed you and Scott by a day... we were at Midway for lunch that Sat.

I'm surprised you didn't play hooky from work yesterday.... it was beautiful. Hope to be down this weekend to set up the trailer for Wine Down I.

Yea, I wanted to so bad but I figured if I did it would be sooooo transparant! haha

Hey maybe if I get a chance I'll stop by the marina and watch ya'll work. haha naw probably help ya, bring a few beers too.

Right now it's notsure if I'm going to get there this weekend. One of my guys at work came down with pneumonia and I may have to cover for him if I can't get (force) someone else to do it.

Its supposed to be 65 and sunny once this front moves through tomorrow morning. A trip to the boat may in order!

What a beautiful day to miss being on the water. I got caught up in my "generator mod" today. When I finish, I MIGHT post it.

Jim T. did you get to visit your boat today? I hope so.

Sdarc, I hope you got your trailer done today. Sorry I didn't make it up your way. I took advantage of the nice weather to tie up some loose ends on my boat before my Carolina Boaters club trips start next month in Feb.

I hope everyone had a great Saturday, and maybe sunday will be nice also.

Cliff A. I haven't heard much from you on the CB web pages. Have you seen all the trips being talked up?

Nicky....goes without saying, put down the beer....and pick up the ET! haha

I got to the boat on Friday but it was too windy to go out. Not to windy to drink some beer though! Will try to get out on the water today.
