Is there an anchorage in Port Jeff?

I stopped at town hall yesterday and had VERY limited time to do it and finally got an answer that "port jeff" has nothing to do with the shore line, I needed to go to Brook Haven town hall! So I bailed out and I'l try again. Sorry guys. I should have just called.

FYI, the Brookhaven harbormaster has an office in the 2 story brown tower by the dock, next to the ferry waiting room.

Are the sand dunes only in pirate's cove? I assume its not allowed to pull the boat onto beach or close by with 2 anchors? I remember climbing them when I was a kid and would be great to bring my kids back there.

The high dunes are only in the cove. You might be able to pull up on the beach. I don’t know how the harbor master would view it though. Beware the tide. You could easily get stranded. It does get very tight with all the moorings.

If you have a dinghy you could easily take that over. I’ve done that. You could also go at it from the Sound side if it’s not a rough day, or possibles anchor outside the cove and walk over to the dunes.
