Is my cockpit seat missing something?

The captains chair on my 260DA is the regular curved back seat with a flip up bolster that is used on many of Sea Ray's sport boats and some sport cruiser models.

I have been having a problem with mine when I go to flip up the bolster. The bolster hits the front of the seat bottom itself. Yesterday I decided to have a look at it and to my surprise the seat botom will slide right out when the bolster is up :smt017 . It is not fastened down to the seat base in any way. There are two strips of cotton padding stapled to the bottom of the seat pad (for whatever reason  ) but that's it. Can anyone tell me if your seat bottom is the same way? I will check the seat bottom on my 240 SunDeck the next time I am at the Marina since it has the same seat but for now I thought I would ask the members if they might have an answer to this question.

Thanks

Dave

I'm not sure if the seat in your 260 DA the same as in my 240 SD, but I have never had a problem like that. You should take a picture and post it. Any luck selling your 240SD?

Brent..............it's the same seat that is in my 240SD. Like I said, I will check that seat the next time I get to the boat. But I don't ever recall that seat bottom moving around at all like the one on my 260DA does.

Dave: I'll check my boat this afternoon, but I've never encountered the bolster issue you describe. My bolster is tight (it rubs against the seat bottom), but I've never had difficulty moving it up and down.

Dave,
Wish I had checked the board this morning. Just got back from the boat and would have checked it out for you. I've got the same seats on my 240 and never had the problem. I'll check it out next time I'm at the boat, but I'm sure you will get the answer by someone else before then.

Dave: With the bolster up, my seat does not slide forward or lift upward. When I lift gently on the seat bottom, I can hear velcro being pulled apart. The factory may have forgotten the velcro when building your seat.

Thanks Thunderbird. I suspect they forgot the velcro. :smt021

I will tell my dealer about it and let them handle it.

Exactly Dave. you waited long enough. It's a good winter project to get handled.
