When leaving our Cove to go out the Gunpowder River we have a Railroad Bridge to go under with a low clearance. Leading up to the bridge and right after we clear is a narrow channel you must stay in as the water gets very shallow on either side. Now as we clear the bridge there are several day markers which mark your channel path, the one closest to the bridge has a 6 knot warning marker and then you make a slight turn to starboard for the next day marker which is no more and 30 yards away. Once you pass the first marker there is no speed limit marker so most people will open up right there. Well here is my issue, yesterday while we were going out here comes someone coming in on a 280, and I’m going out in the channel. I see him coming in so I maintain my 6 knot speed as a courtesy to him until I am completely past both markers and out of the channel area, he on the other hand just barrels past me on plane throwing a huge wake at my port side. Now I’m pissed off, and feel to myself why should I be courteous anymore, but I know it is the right thing to do. It just makes me so damn mad that some people out there on the water don’t think!
Is it just me??
