Be careful of getting 'help' selling your boat. i have heard of places that offer to help sell it for a fee then when you sell it on your own because they did nothing you still owe them a commission. be sure to read the contract very closely if you decide to go that route.

I had same thing happen, after receiving the check I threw it out, and gave them the pick up address of our local Police Station. Wasted their time, not mine.

They claim they never received the item after payment by Paypal.
Paypal will refund him and charge you!

Cash only...even then it may be fake,

Tell them to send the PayPal as a "gift" then they can't despite the money.
