Brad welcome.....you'll get through the initiation soon enough.
You guys think of something good and post it in the Secret section he can't see until he has a Silver or Gold Badge

Shoot, now you went and told him about the secret section. Wes you'll have to delete them post now.

SRO lives on, on the bow of Truly Blessed II. My very well worn SRO burgee has something like 4500 NM on it, has been caked with salt spray on the Bay, but is still hanging in there. I was going to fly the spiffy new CSR Burgee at BiH this year, but since I only ordered it four months ago I expect to get it in time for the 09 Superbowl, or a month before I cut shrink wrap for the '09 season.

regards
Skip

I think your expectations might be a bit unreasonable on the burgee. :smt101:smt089

While not SRO, mainly due to the shear volume of past information, CSR is a welcome gunk hole and I believe will build up to SRO's status over time. Thank Jim at BOE and always consider supporting his business as a thank you for the headaches I am sure this site cause him.

That and there are crazy things happening in that super secret forum for sponsors.

Yeah... Wes got in a big fight with Jeremy and threatened to sue him if he didn't start deleting posts with bad language. Jeremy started deleting the posts with bad language and then someone else threatened to sue Jeremy for censorship. This was right after Sea Ray gave Jeremy a brand new boat. Wes, being so upset, went to a guy in Annapolis who sells radios and they bought a Dell PC and started CSR. Sea Ray, meanwhile, started to boss Jeremy around because they gave him that new boat and Jeremy's wife didn't like it so he shut it down. Wes and the radio guy then tried to recruit other members.

Did I get that right?
Wow, Jeremy got a new boat out of Sea Ray? Then the guy with the 185 got new seat's and all I got was some dog food. I don't even own a dog.

Actually, I think the first boat they gave him had a scratch on it and he rejected it and so they gave him a second boat.

When SRO closed doors I was lost and lost a lot of good content/history from chats.

Boated.com was kind enough to start a Sea Ray Owners forum, whic is nice, but not near the same as here.

They really gave him a boat for running a CSR Forum? :wow:

Greg, you are in trouble, you used that BE word.

And if Brad was at that unmentionable place there is arrogance.

Frank is right, you can't match perfection.

I don't mind the BE word, or the links. I am simply reciprocating BE's policy. They do not allow links or talk of any other sites on theirs, so I have instituted a similar policy for them only. BoatUS has a Sea Ray section too. I have seen lots of Sea Ray sections on different sites, such as Yachtforums. I have no problems with them or BE. Just trying to keep things fair.

Morpheus, if you haven't figured it out, Four Suns was actually booted off SRO, and single handedly spearheading a copyright infringement lawsuit on them. The owner did not want to fight the lawsuit so he shut down the site. At which time Four Suns financed the growth and promotion of this site.

There are a number of old SRO members here on CSR, but this is definitely not a re-incarnation of the old forum. It would be hard to beat perfection.................

You guys mean that this forum is perfection? I would agree; great site. Just so long as Jim doesn't shut it down overnight, and we lose all the knowledge within that we've tried to rebuild...

Jim is right about the other place, they do not allow links or mention of others and especially this one, they started a SeaRay section but don't you dare invite someone to join over here, they even monitor PM's to prevent you from trying to "steal their customers", their words not mine. Yes I am a member there and it really is a strange group. You have to be real careful what you say so you don't start a fight. :smt021 I have seen people get the boot just for picking on the mods, things that happen here would get you off there at times depending on the mood or the moon, who knows.

This is a real great place to be, and as SRO folks we had to make some adjustments in the way we do things because this is a business owned board and not private like SRO was. We made our adjustments and things get better every day.

No, although he probably deserved one. Jeremy is a great guy and a member of CSR and as was stated when the site (SRO) closed, we are not going to talk about his reasons for closing down the site, he had them. CSR has been around for a while and the member base is pretty strong. We are thankful to Jeremy for allowing us to use his site and get to meet a great group of boaters and learn alot along the way.

I am the one with a problem with them, when they kick a member off for putting a link to another site, you have major problems. I may delete Gary's post but I have yet to kick the guy off the ship, yet.

This is Jim's attempt at humor too for all those that believe everything you read. Can't wait to see the PMs about this one.

You didn't think that was funny? Sure..Gary makes up a story and everybody laughs...I make up a story and its not funny :smt089

mmmm......I remember those good 'Ol Days, miss it, but appreciate Jim, Wesley and the new home we've all found.
