While moored this weekend we spent the night and turned off the generator expecting the xanex (sp.) inverter monitoring panel to stay lit to allow me to monitor the systems but instead it went dark after turning off the genset. We still had all lights, fridge and heads working fine off of the house batteries but no 110 receptacles were operational anywhere on the boat!? I double checked all of the DC breakers on the salon panel and all were set correctly. So with all that being said, should the xanex (sp.) monitoring panel go dark?? And where's my receptacle power?

Without knowing your system, i would start at the battery and trace the DC power to the inverter. It should have a large class t fuse and possibly a switch on the positive dc conductor. Could be a loose connection blown fuse.

Sounds to me like your Xantrex Inverter was not functioning. However, some of the inverters have an automatic transfer switch and will switch to inverter operation when the loss of a 110v power (generator, shore power) sources ceases. Others the inverter must be switched on. You may need to investigate to determine which you have. Was this your first time using it?
