Google David Pascoe who used to perform boat surveys. Most here do not like him as he is not a big SR fan. However, he talks about the stringer system on a 268 SR that he surveyed that is of the vintage you are looking at. Consider it part of doing your due diligence. Sorry, I don't have a link.Members,
I am interested in finding an illustration, or more preferably, of the stringer and plywood parts of late 1980's Sea Ray 250, 268 and Sorrento 25. Any advice on how to get this done would be appreciated.

Some of Pascoe's beef with SR is the stringers are not accessible due to the many areas that are glassed over with flooring and other features. So you don't really know what is lurking behind these areas. Not sure why he singles out SR for this concern as this is true for many smaller boats. Probably because SR sells a lot of boats and he sees the problems that they develop after 10 years or so.I thank you for that, yes, I've read that at least twice if its the article I'm thinking of. Very well written. But there are no illustrations of exactly where the wooden parts are located. The models mentioned above are my favorites but the 268 fits best. I guess as long as the engine mounts are ok the boat will operate. When the transom starts to leak its all over until the situation is repaired. It appears that the Sorrento has a very small transom.
