We are certainly learning about the boat this season. Latest "issue" is that the water pump is mostly not coming on. It worked during my shower sat, then was not working, then was for a few minutes, then not.

So it sounds like some sort of electrical issue. I believe there is a pressure switch on the pump that could be sticking - anyone have experience with this?

Will be investigating when I'm back at the boat.

Thanks,

On our boat the pressure switch on the pump is built in to the pump. On one trip we were north and had no way of getting a new pump when we lost pressure in the system. Pump would not run. I took it apart and shorted out the pressure switch. This solved the problem but some one had to work the breaker when some one wanted to run water. It was a pain but we had water. Pump was a couple of hundred I think. It took about an hour to take out the old one and put in a new one. We got the exact same pump from internet. Good luck.

Thanks. That is a creative solution!

I am hoping that some mild violence might bring the switch back into operation. Just need a few kidless hours on the boat to do it!

I spoke with the Sureflo folks and they said that the software was likely bad. So I looked for the pump in the Annapolis area, where of course it was not available. A lovely drive to Deal and I had a new pump.

I wish that the people who build boats knew (and liked) the people who fix boats. What a F#$%#G pain to get that pump out. At least my kids were not on the boat - they would have had quite a show.

Water works as before, wallet a little lighter.

The summer of repairs continues.
