Intermittent Alarm at Startup

I have a 2004 Sea Ray 240 Sundancer with an intermittent alarm. The intermittent alarm sounds when I turn on the engine and will continue to sound until I either turn off the engine or if I leave the engine run for a few minutes it may also quit, but not necessarily. The rest of my smartcraft system gauges indicate that everything is fine. The service and operations manual says that an alternating alarm of this type is from low lube oil in the sterndrive reservoir. I checked the fluid level in the reservoir and it shows it as being full. I also looked to see if there was any indication of any water in the lube oil, but also found it to be fine. Is there anything else that can give me an intermittent alarm at start up and than stop after a several minutes at low idle? Any help or suggestions with this would be greatly appreciated... Thanks, Ken

is it a solid alarm or a beep every min or 2? if it is solid it could be gear oil. to test that just disconnect one of the wires on the bottom of your gear oil bottle then start it and see what happens. if it is a beep it might be a water pressure sensor or an iac. The best to do is have someone hook up a diag. tool to it and look into the history and he will be able to tell you exactly

Thanks for the suggestions. I disconnected and reconnected the wires to the gear oil bottle and intermittent alarm went away, so I have to believe it was just a loose connection to the level sensor. It's working great now... thanks again for helping me out.
