I’m installing and reinstalling the vent covers, see image below.
I lost one, got a replacement, removed the other one, and have them at a body shop getting painted to match. Now, how do I install?
Should I use anything like 4200 to ensure they stay put this time, should I just use clear silicone, should I put anything on the Xmas trees to get them to stay put?
I’ll be removing the Xmas tree out of the boat...

I removed this one, it was not really attached very well at all.

I would do it just how they did. You kinda want them to "break away" next time. If you attach them too well they are liable to rip out a chunk of the hull next time.

Not a bad time to wipe a little epoxy around that hole where its cut through the hull. They usually do a piss poor job brushing on gelcoat. Even if there isnt any layers to the hull side just a why-not your right there kinda thing.

I agree with the above. Put some epoxy over the coring before you install.

I lost one on my 340 and I installed the new one with 4200 just on the Xmas tree pins. I didn’t lose another one so I think it helped.
