I bought the boat with a Garmin 182c. I have sold the monitor and kept my 498 from my last boat. I called Garmin and they told me the transducer is the same, the same antena, just the power hook up cord is differnt (16 pins vrs. 8 pins). How do dimantle the dash to take out the old cords and hard wire the new ones I orderd from Garmin. The Bottom bracket is for the GPS.

Not sure I understand your question.
You should be able to gain access to wiring, either from under the dash, or gently remove a switch panel, or maybe even from the ceiling inside the cabin, as some boats have an access panel inside.
Is the previous owner any help?

Gees, I have to slow down when I type and use spell check I guess. :smt024

The bottom bracket in the picture is where the old gps was mounted. I have take out the power cord and splice in a new one. I figured there must be an acess panel in the aft cabin somewhere. I was curious if anyone has done this before.

I wouldn't think that there'd be anything in the aft cabin, unless it was put there by a previous owner.
The main wiring harness to the helm is run from the bilge along the Starboard side, along side the steering cable, to behind the dash, where it feeds the ignition, gauges, accessories, etc.
I'd say that there is a terminal strip inside your dash, or directly under it, or perhaps the existing unit is connected to a switch.
Anything that you can remove without doing any damage, so that you can follow the existing power cable and its connections?
You may need a flashlight and an inspection mirror, on a telescoping rod.
Switch plate directly under the unit is where I'd start, for sure.
Hope this helped.
