To trim the boat, not an issue. But more to prevent concerned faces when sailing with guests :) ans also makes sailing more relaxed, looking for automatic solution.

After some research, picked ACS RP from Mente Marine (http://www.mente-marine.com/). Liked the communication with MM and decide to order. Within two days (Finland - The Netherlands) received my unit with DHL Worldwide Express.

First the unboxing, in the box, the unit, manual and drill template. Unit isn’t too large, very light and high build quality.

Removing the old trim control and replace isn’t an option, as panel has an angle in the PS/SB direction.

Left under the steering wheel, I installed additional switches and can place ACS above.

Wires can also be seen behind dash cover under steering wheel. Removed two tie-raps, so length sufficient to reach position ACS.

Removed plug from ACS (two small screws) and connected wires as per manual.

Final full dash with Mente Marine ACS RP (Roll & Pitch) installed. After calibration all worked well. Actual test during sailing later this week.

Yep, and must say, your info was very useful. Thanks!

WOW! Best investment every! Did some trail runs, force 4, choppy sea.. As advised used Gain setting 1 (less nervous corrections)... All directions worked very well and not active during turn or less than plane speed.

If you fed up trimming your boat all the time, this is the solution! Press auto and relax.

Good to hear your happy with it. I run mine at gain setting 2 (middle setting) and find it fine.

Between the autopilot and auto trim tabs, I find I can sit back and focus on keeping a watch.

I found this product online and love what they tell me it can do. I have a 2005 Sea Ray 290 SLX with twin Merc's and I find it difficult to maintain slower cruising speeds on this boat. Per the mfr of this ACS, it will help control that using the trim tabs (which is what I've been trying to do myself with very little luck). My question for you both - how do you know which of the ACS models to buy? I boat on a very large lake so we get waves but they are not consistent waves like on an ocean. Any ideas?
