I'm looking to buy a gx1700 horizon standard radio is this a good product for the money or is there something better for the same money.

Can I suggest you go to the BOE website and compare the radios they have to offer, then ask Jim for any help he may be able to give. I got mine from them, they are great to work and deal with. Plus fast shipping
