I've really enjoyed our Forum especially getting to meet many other Sea Ray Owners through CSR. A few years ago, Quint4 (Dave Adams) announced he was going to start doing canvas work on the side, and in April, he posted his Infinity Teak Carpet pictures. I wanted to send him some business, so I contacted him through the Forum. He really made the process simple and it was a pleasure to give him business. I did the templates myself with 6 mil poly from HD, blue tape and a Sharpie. I needed 200 Sq Ft of product. We decided to go "wall to wall" rather than the original carpet sizes, or the traditional teak look with white outlines. We also decided to try a 3M "industrial Strength" Velcro attachment system rather than traditional screw/snaps. So far so good. We made a 10 hour trip over the holiday and everything held on well.

It's very soft to walk on with bare feet. We even put it in the heads (at Dave's suggestion). It does get warm in the sun, but I have a full camper now, and it hasn't bothered our feet on the swim platform. Time will tell if we need to water it down.

Here are a couple of pictures:

Dave even made "covers" for the swim platform vents that we can put on when docked/anchored. They lined up perfectly. I strongly recommend you use Dave if you need some of this.

Thanks Dave - "Job well Done!"

Artfully done.

Carter, Your boat looks great.... I wish I would have waited to do my carpet because I would have Dave make my carpet...

That looks great Carter! I just realized you were in Chattanooga. I did the Ironman 70.3 in Chattanooga on May 17th. Great town.

Great, thanks Carter! Now guess what I have to have done... Looks like a good pattern for my boat huh Dave? Go ahead and send me a quote please.

Damn it!

we have the same teak carpet in our bridge and love it. the only reason we decided not to go with it in the cockpit/stairs is because of how slippery it is when wet. Be very careful when it gets wet! Before installing, we had about a sqare foot sample of it and put it on the platform. One morning one of our friends boarded the boat from the platform and almost fell in the water because the carpet sample had dew on it.

Thanks for the heads up. Having it on the swim platform might be pushing it them...

Hey Carter looks great! Glad you're happy with it. As some of you may know, I put this on my boat a month ago and this weekend was the first "hot" weekend we spent on the boat with it. I did find it got very warm to bare feet, but it was not a deal breaker for me. I am sure the "hot to feet" factor will depend on the color of Infinity you install. It comes in lots of colors/styles. http://infinityfabricsllc.com/

I did not notice it being slippery when wet but it may be more so than nonskid? We shall see.

Ken, I will get with you soon ......I am absolutely buried right now with canvas work and flooring orders...... probably 4 to 6 weeks out.

My templates ought to work if you like the "wall to wall" idea. It makes it slightly more difficult to open the hatch - I fold the edges over - and have to lift the post under the stbd side cushion to fold that side inboard. But we really like it. I can PM you some in-depth pics of my install if you want them....

The carpet I do have is wall to wall so that is exactly how I would want it. Did you do a cutout so you can raise the engine hatch? I will PM you my email address as I would love to see more pictures.
Thanks Carter!

this is the synthetic teak carpet in our bridge, compared to a sample of Nuteak. Very hard to dinstiguish. We plan on installing the Nuteak in the cockpit/stairs soon.
