4.3 mpi w/alpha 1
Is there anyone in the Indianapolis area that knows how to service alpha 1 drives and wants to teach me how to properly service them. I would love to learn to do all the maintenance on my boat instead of paying the high dollar at the dealers.

I guess kind of both, I want to just service the outdrives, the port engine has a small water leak coming in through the shift cable. I was told by one of the shops that when you pull the outdrive to service it, an o-ring that would need to be replaced would fix the leak issue. It's an 01 from saltwater, I'm not sure if they have ever been serviced, so might be a good idea to do.

I can also give a personal recommendation for Marine Tech off Pendleton pike. Jim Tiefel was also a tech/mechanic at Boatland. He winterized and did maintenance on all my sr's in the early 90's when we were on monroe and started his own business. He still does service work in addn to his transport business.

Marine Tech, owned and operated by Jim Tiefel, has been providing complete yacht transport and inboard marine services from
the same location for over 18 years. *Prior to starting MarineTech, Jim worked for a local Sea Ray dealer. *During his time with
Sea Ray, Jim wore many different hats. *Jim did everything from routine maintenance to major repairs. *However, it was his
training and his ability to relate to customers that made him the ideal choice to serve as new boat delivery specialist. *In that role
Jim not only delivered new yachts to their proud new owners, but he also acquainted them with all aspects of their operation and
maintenance.

The Marine Tech commitment to every client is simple: *the professional, dependable, on time and, most importantly, safe
delivery of their boat. *To that end, we only use the latest equipment, specifically designed for the boating industry. *All of our
trucks and trailers are air-ride equipped to insure the smoothest ride possible. *Our late model Peterbilt trucks exceed all
emission standards and are fitted with horizontal exhaust systems to prevent dirty soot from settling in and on your boat during
transport. Our truck mounted, remote operated cranes aid in the painstaking task of disassembly and reassembly of fly bridges
and radar arches. This insures that you won't be relying on a sign company or crane truck (that might, for example, normally be
used to install rooftop air conditioners) to handle your much more sensitive cargo. *We make sure every job is more than
adequately insured, obtain all of the necessary permits and always use pilot cars, as required by law, to give you peace of mind
that your boat will arrive and launch as expected.

In simplest terms, we offer a one stop, turnkey solution to your boat transportation needs. *There's no need to contract with your
local marina to disassemble your boat (they will likely contract out the heavy stuff anyway), then a cargo transport company to
get your boat from point A to point B, then the destination marina to try and put it all back together. *We do it all. *If you should
have a question about the move, you won't have to try and figure out who did what and when, or deal with someone telling you
they didn't handle that part of the job.

All work and every aspect of your move is performed and handled by trained professionals with your satisfaction as priority one. *
So, if you don't mind a general purpose cargo trucker hauling your boat, you have many choices. *If you want a professional boat
transporter, you have one choice: MarineTech!

A little late in the response but I will agree with Sea Ray40dad's testimony of Jim Tiefel. Last May I contacted Jim to move my 340 Bridge from lake Erie to the Ohio River. Jim was at the Marina well before any one was up, he was ready. I had a Arch that needed to be removed and once again Jim was prepared as he has a built- in hoist on his rig. Once the boat was on his trailer, he removed the props and then removed the Arch, all while in a driving rain storm. I followed him South and to the Marina launch site where he parked for the night. Next morning he was up and was ready to reinstall the Arch and props. Plus Jim had new hardware and the caulking we would have to purchased. I would call Jim today and ask to move anything I have, I consider him one of the best in his trades. One of the best part- Jim is very fair in his pricing.

I am wondering if Marine Tech is still in operation
Emailed them for a shipping quote last week and no response
so I called thier phone number on the website and it had been disconnected
Randy at A&E marine gave me his cell# and I left a message
we'll see if he calls back

if anyone needs his contact # just send a PM

When I contacted Jim to move our boat it was almost 6 months to the move. He was already setting up transporting all over the map, he is in big demand. It took him 4 days to call me back but he did, have patience. Jim is the only one I trust with my boat.

I think he does more transport than maintenance.
