Since we won't be getting a new boat this year more than likely
the Admiral and I are discussing slipping JP for the summer and seeing
how much time we can generate to use her.
I have been on Monroe all of my life so I know the lake and the traffic
I have been on Brookville a few times but never on the weekends to see the traffic
slip space is cheaper at Brookville than Monroe and it's a little closer to home(1 hour as opposed to 1.25 hours to Monroe)
but I really haven't explored the lake much ...except to find alot of standing timber
just under the water.
for those who go to either or have been to both...
advantages/disadvantages ??
likes/dislikes ??
traffic patterns ??
ammeneties ??

Four Winds is a very nice place but very expensive.
Kent's Harbor seems nice but never been there when anything was open.

any thoughts ??

I can't stand Brookville. Always choppy and you can only go north and south. Just feels very small. Oh yeah... Lots of Ohio boats there, they seem to be less friendly. IMO

I've never overnighted on Brookville either..
anywhere to get out of the traffic and drop the hook for the night safely ?

Monroe hands down. You can anchor safely at Brookville, but your in 50'+ of water, unlike the 10' you can get into at Monroe. Much smaller lake as well.

Bringing our 240 DA down to Monroe next week, staying at Four Winds. Any recommendations of where to cruise? Any dockside eating options?

Anything to watch out for?

Thanks,

Cory

Four winds for eating
Allens creek for socializing...coctail cove
east of the causeway is all idle zone so a good place to anchor and relax but watch your depth if you go back to where it forks...gets thin in a hurry
If you are there this Saturday nite drop by H29 and say Hi.
Jim

Thanks Jim, we'll be arriving on Sunday afternoon, staying until Tuesday. Have a fun weekend.
