In Water Flush

Anyone care to share the best way to flush a raw water cooled merc 5.0 mpi? In the water with ears (how do you do that?), or a hookup directly to the engine. I'm new to I/O's, thats all I got. Thanks.

Never tried it in the water but I suppose could be done. The muffs are not a 100% seal so you will get some sea water into the flush doing it that way.

There are some devices that you can buy that will do this to an extent as well. Basically they allow you to connect a garden hose just above the outdrive. Perko makes one and there is another company too:
