Todd... Naa a lot of my projects as I said I started a few years ago... and yes I used to have free time... my schooling takes all of my spare time at home now. The golfcart was actually done in my shope at home.. but a lot of my parts were indeed fabed at work. New floor boards, kick panels, storage panels, and the back of the cart is sheet metal so I had to patch some of that. The front is actually fiberglass and was pretty bad shape... the exhaust I made at work... The frame I sandblasted at work as well... the underside was Hydrocoated *water based Rhino Lining*. Since most of my parts came from my employer I did swap out the cushman logo on the front for my companies logo... lol

Don... thanks ill be in touch... I also have a 1957 pontiac superchief... Ill try to post a pic later...

MJ... really haven't had anyone ask me why I restored it... My GF named it the piece which is actually on either side of the front in the white section... I did it because I love this thing... it was too cool not to keep.

Everyone else... you have some awsome rides....

Ours has been a work in progress.

Several years ago, we bought a house with a 3 car garage plus an RV carport. My immediate reaction for the carport was a future shop with a lift.

Following is a brief history of the build from early fall to the present.

House before we took possession:

Carport employed as a wash bay in the early days:

Varying stages of build:

Finally inside, just in time to beat the winter rain (and snow):

Our next item will be the lift, most likely a 4 post. After the lift, we can complete a few finishing details. The shop is 26 x 12 with a 13 foot ceiling. We end up with about 12'-6" clearance when the door is up. We have a Liftmaster 3800 operator, two 1000 watt baseboard heaters, water and phone. A basic shop, but very nice to have in the winter.

In February, we ordered a BendPak HD-9, where we continue the project:

Lift transport:

The tilt deck tow truck lowered the lift into the garage where I did the assembly using an engine cherry picker, floor jacks and profanity as required.

Levelling plates were added to counter the 2.5 inch slope on the shop floor:

The Z06 needs additional ramping to clear the rocker panels:

The Z06 which is lowered about 1 inch, is too low for the front end air dam to clear the RJ-45 rolling bridge, so the car is backed onto the lift, so that the rolling jack (stowed at the rear of the lift) clears the rear suspension and can be rolled up to the front end when required.

Addition of the daily driver:

We now have the 3 car garage to complete and it will be done to match the shop.

An update: The 3 car garage is now done:

While this sort of stuff is fun, it interferes with boating time.

Wow! I am enjoying this thread. Lots of really good stuff, and neat to see the "other passions" in everyone's lives.
Now, I can't add anything to this thread, I have been working on decreasing the "stuff" in my garage (and other places too) over the last few years, but probably the best thing that ever went into my garage as not much, and came out better, was this, and that was quite a while ago. Keep the pictures coming.
