In need of a NORCOLD 541 for a 99 340DA...not working is ok

I am looking for a Norcold DE541 for parts. I hope I can take yours and mine and make one working unit.

What's wrong with it? What ate your symptoms? Have some parts left over maybe I can help you out.
 
This is not going to be a technical response. The black grid thing in the back is leaking some sort of fluid. Parts are not available for the unit. The grid must have some sort of leak. The unit was working fine an then it froze - I tried to thaw it out by shutting it off and it stopped working
 
The black grid thing in the back is the refrigerant condenser. It's copper, so someone familiar with refrigeration repair should be able to fix the leak and add charging ports in order to repair the unit. The leaking fluid is refrigerant oil. The service will need to replace some of the oil. Not sure which refrigerant they used. 134a?

The problem will be finding someone to work on it.
 
FC3 from NJ - much appreciated. I am going to try and see if I can get it fixed! The unit was working great. I heard the replacement Norcolds aren't very good

Yep. I had a coke sitting in one and it froze? I guess these Nevercolds do get cold sometimes. LOL Anyway, when I went to remove it it cracked the door shelf.

I have one you can have for shipping cost. I stripped all the parts off mine when I replaced it. Do you need a wire shelf too by any chance? I think I have the top shelf and door left aside from one of the plastic door shelves. Sorry for the thread hijack. I have to figure out an issue with my PM quota that is apparently now exceeded.

That would be great. I can't remember if if was the top or bottom one (I think it was the top shelf). I'll look at the wire shelves too but I believe those are in good shape. My wife normally stocks the fridge so I don't look too closely. I'll PM you in a day or two, once I can get below and see which shelf it was.

i have a norcold from my 290 dancer. Its probably a smaller unit but I can check on model number.:huh:
 
HI- I saw you may have some old refrigerator parts. I am looking for spring hinge for freezer door. WOuld you have one or both?

I need the thermostat switch assembly.
It has the temp dial and power switch incorporated.
I can take a picture of mine tomorrow.
My boat is a 98 330 which I believe is very similar to the 340 model.
