Importance of Organ Donation

Just seeing this now Henry thoughts and prayers to you and your family. Peace be with you and your family. I've been a donor since I was 16. Hope others consider it too.

Last Wednesday I underwent a three operation liver transplant. I am still in hospital while the doctors get the mix off anti rejection drugs right. It looks all good at this point.

I'd like to thank everyone who offered prayers and kind words. It meant more to my wife and I than I can ever explain.

Fantastic news Henry!! We will keep you and your family in our thoughts/prayers for a speedy recovery and smooth sailing from this point forward!! I am an organ donor...wasn't until we suddenly lost my father-in-law and learned of all the people his organs were going to help that changed my point of view on the topic.

Great news, Henry! Hurry up and get well - it's almost boating season.

Great news indeed. You'll soon be back to boating and wood working in no time at all. Please keep your CSR friends updated on your recovery. Brian

Best wishes on a speedy recovery.

I took my 16 year old daughter to get her driver's license back in 2001. She checked the box to become an organ donor which made me very proud. Later that afternoon, she was the right front seat passenger in a friend's car and was killed in a traffic accident. Her "gift of life" benefited many people.

Henry is right, check the box. Life is short.

Great news Henry, are you sick of jello yet?

This is the first time seeing this thread. Henry, best wishes and a full and speedy recovery to you!

Rick, I never knew about your loss. I can't even imagine, but what a feeling it must be to know she helped other people in dire need.

Ironic seeing this post right now after not logging in for a while. Just got back to Ca from Florida for my best friends funeral. He and a friend died in a single car accident. Upon hearing about his passing I called his mother and asked if he was a donor (he was not) and she refused to donate his organs. I was livid. In the event of my loss of life I'm certainly a dinar as well as an avid blood donator. Glad to see people benefiting from such generosity.

I can't donate blood for health reasons, but I am an organ donor, and my body will be donated to science. Hope you get better, cancer is an awful disease.

I've been a donor for many years, and give blood on a regular basis. Henry... I wish you all the best luck I can.

Henry, I'm glad you found a donor and have the second chance at life.

Rick, OMG, a parent's worst nightmare. As Mike said, your daughter gave countless others a second chance at life. I too, checked the organ donor box for my DL.
