I'm guessing the forum software is one big Visual Basic macro sitting on top of Microsoft Word which is sitting on top of Windows.

Might be running on a windoze box, buts it's PHP code, not VB.

Maybe the difference is the number of people who have signed up minus the number of those who have actually visited and/or posted on the forums.
