I wish my 40 Dancer ___________?

Doing the third or fourth or fifth visit on the 44...lost count.

Only Mate and I are in the front cabin. MM sales guy talking about the hatch and the access to the bow. Wife looks at me, looks at the hatch...looks at me...asks the sales guy if we can order a bigger hatch.

I'm thinking the honeymoon is over.

I think the resale on gas versus diesel depends on where you are selling. Like many other inland lake boaters have mentioned, dealers here tend to power with gas, unless special ordered. There is diesel on the lake (now - only for the last few years).

Diesel mechanics are another issue altogether. Don't forget to consider that.

I'm not sure what kind of boating you do - but most of us lake boaters don't take it up to cruising speed and keep it there for hours at a time. Because we run out of lake! So while I definitely understand and appreciate the advantages (and some disadvantages) of diesel, I think it would take a LONG time for fuel economy to play into the picture with the kind of hours you are suggesting you put on a boat annually.

That said, if I were to ever move up into the 40's, I would prefer diesel. But it's mostly an emotional thing for me.

I think so...it's a thread about the 40DA and Registered owns a 40DA and he made a comment about Sea Ray's offerings in this range in a relevant post.

Looks like the 39/40DA is off of the Sea Ray lineup card for 2011.

Big gap in the Dancer models now from 390 to 450...

Sea Ray seems to have a few big gaps in their lineup....both at the high end and the mid-range.

It seems like a big gap between the the current 280DA (formerly 270DA) and the 310DA. Especially since the 290AJ has been discontinued. On paper the size doesn't look like a big gap but the gap in base MSRP is huge between them. It's an even bigger gap between the 390 and 450.

It seems like this would be good for some of us who have used boats that fill these gaps.

I wish my 40 Dancer was still being built in 2011.

That better?

I guess I didn't realize there was a time limit for replying to a thread. Most people criticize for creating a new thread. Must say I've never seen anyone complain about using an old one.

Cheers!
