So we pulled the plug on Direct tv...they said send all the boxes back .... you get to keep the dish. WTF?... Well the nice thing is the dish is cemented in the ground ... something they did free of charge. I want to blow it up...my wife said no. Who wants it? ...just the dish... I will deal with the post and cement no charge
Have done this a few times. I seriously doubt anyone will want it. There are maybe 4 on my dock that are unused. When we moved in the current home, I dug down about 2” to the top of the concrete and cut the pole off with a sawzall..... Bennett
I did the same thing. I was tired of getting ripped off every month. The only bad thing now is I’m stuck watching liberal news.
I attached an over-the-air antenna to the front of my dish when I unplugged. Even used the coax they left to connect it to the house. Best thing DirectTV ever did for me
At the closing of my last home, I told the buyers that I was leaving the dish for them. I think they rolled their eyes.
I wish our old dish was in the ground in NY they mount them on your roof it’s been there for over 10 years and I hate it.
I am about to unplug myself, I have been in reactivation purgatory for over a month getting a new sim card activated. so far I have had two sim cards and two servers fedexed to the house and have spent over six hours on the phone with techs and I still do not have a replacement working. I am researching other wireless carriers to finally cut the cord completely with AT&T. Ive been a loyal customer for 25 years but finally gotta say I'm done. Does anyone use T-Mobile and their Tvision service? Supposedly its pretty popular out in Nor Cal. Carpe Diem
we just left TMobile cell plan after years of service we started experiencing dropped calls no service so my experience with T-Mobile is not a good one. we have a Verizon gigabit fiber line at home now and it’s awesome on average we have 33 devices on the network and no buffering
I have a Direct TV dish on the roof and a new one in the box in the garage. When I moved here in 2004 the installer just used the old one and left the new one behind. I finally dumped them last year and that in itself was hard. They were like a tick that wouldn’t let go. I get “we miss you” mailers from them weekly with offers no better than what was there before. Trouble is that internet is sparse here. My previous DSL provider was providing less and less and charging more and more so they got the boot too. Now there’s a Hugesnet dish cemented on a pole in my front yard and despite the assurances of the hot girl walking around in the commercial, the service stinks. Streaming is tedious at times but with country life comes comprise.
I have Verizon at home and getting ready to cut the cord... Just not sure what to do either.... How does everyone watch tv, shows, News, movies... Gonna cancel everything but Wifi I guess... Paying 300 a month for 4 boxes and all channels... Just way too much!!!!!
