I Must Go Down to the Seas Again

Sadler...if we head north, maybe One Moor Toy could break HB back into submission. The waters maight be safer.

That would be a good thing. Hey Babe's been getting a little out of line lately. Dirty fuel filters, scratching other boats. Not good.

Tonya gave me the OK to order a radio. Are these any good?

Seems like it had everything we needed to get started. I wanted one with the weather channels on it as well as all the marine. Now all we'll need is someone to talk to on the other end. LOL...

We thought we'd check out Southport this weekend. There is a nice sized marina that you can overnight in and launch at (for $5). We headed south to south side of North Myrtle Beach. There are plenty of gas stations and some marinas on the way.We saw some wild life also

There were at least 4 of them cruising in about 6ft of water. I got to test the new radio. It seemed to work fine. There is one draw bridge just north of North MB and a couple of areas that were construction zones (new tall bridges being built).

There were a few sherrif, coast gaurd, and wildlife boats out on Saturday. They were stopping folks fishing and going to fast in the no wake zones.

The inlet @ Southport is pretty large so the wave action was alittle intense and we didn't have a larger cuddy to break them for us.. :smt013

BTW it took just over 2 hrs each direction.

Nice shot. Am sure the waves did not scare you. You can have our cuddy . We have a new addition on the way! Did you not get caught in any storms?

Nick, Tonya said howdy. Kes (new addition), you are talking new/used boat, right? LOL

No storms. Had great weather the whole trip. Actually, there were storms to our north, so we went south. There is a nice inlet around Holden beach that seems to be a popular swimming area. I have looked at several maps of the area and most of them are really outdated. Has anyone else been out playing?

We just went down and back the same day. We didn't actually make it to MB. We went just south of where 17 cross's the ICW. Next time we'll pack an overnight bag just in case. There are alot of places to anchor and swim along that part of the ICW. Is it like that everywhere else? I noticed that most of the swimming areas are near small inlets or small rivers.
