My parents came up today, and I have an alaskan malamute which is huge by the way. Well the malamute "D.O.G." was looking through the kitchen window and dad walked over to pet him, and D.O.G. Bit him. We spent 4 hrs at the hospital and dad got 7 stiches in his hand. It went on our liabiliy insurance, and now have to get rid of him. He is not a mean dog, but I am pretty sure he thought he was being fed, and it was an accedent. I cant take the chance anyways since I have a 7 mth old son. I hate to see him go though. Any one close want an alaskan malamute?

I found a pic of him at 6 mths old.

I knot it’s a difficult thing to part with a loved pet but I give you kudos’ for making the decision for the sake of your 7 month old child.

A friend had a dog with an issue with its hind legs. They decided to just keep it. The dog ended up biting their daughter across the nose and face. She now has a very visible scar across much of her face.

I think I found someone to take the dog. She already has a female, and wanted a male. It is my neighbors daughter. She is coming today to look at him.

I know this post was awhile ago, but did you think to have your dog checked by your vet??? Alot of times if dogs are not usually aggressive and then shoow it, they may be sick or in pain. That is usually recommended before determining a dog is viscious.

I know I am bring up a thread from awhile ago but what was the final outcome with the dog? I have a husky and love the malamute/husky breeds. I wish I lived closer and had place for him :smt009

Lovely dog but I, as others have said, applaude your decision. When a dog bites one in its own pack, especially one above him, then it is time to go. They can no longer be trusted.
