I hate to ask this but...

When Sea Rays started gaining popularity in the 80's there were two flavors, EC and DA. The EC (express cruiser) which did not have an aft cabin and had straight inline drives. The DA (sun dancer) had the aft cabin and the engines had v-drives. Both boats had slightly different layouts comparatively. In the 90's all boats became DA's.
I was going to search EC vs DA when I saw your post. Thank you

When your doing a search in like boattrader or yachtworld or such, they classify the boats as "Express Cruiser" then by the make. So EC or DA should be left off.

We have a 480 Sedan Bridge, but we just call it the battle wagon as it has gone through everything. 47 mile run in lightning/rain storm. Big ol North Carolina offshore Seas, where water comes through a corner window on the bridge and out the back window. These are good boats. We also had a 340 DA, loved it as well.

That isn't quite true.......The 410 Express Cruiser was still being produced in 2004.....straight shafts no V drives. Those of us with Express Cruisers really appreciate the large engine rooms and space to work on the mechanicals.

I hear ya there. I really like an aft cabin express but have never seen a V Drive equipped boat that I'd like to work on. It's as much of a deal breaker as outdrives have become.

My ER is enormous and a breeze to work in generally speaking.

This my first year with our 96' 330DA w/ V-Drives and man is that engine space filled to the brim. I was (and still am) super excited about having v-drives but damn there is hardly any room to work down there. I still insist on doing my own yearly/ winterizing which now requires some serious pre-planning before wiggling down there to inspect the impellers.
