On the issue of keeping your outdrive in the trailer position, on my 175, that's the only way I can do it. The drive will not go all the way down while sitting on the trailer without bumping into the ground at about the 1/2 way point.

So I leave it up, because I know if I did put it down the ground, I'd end up forgetting about it one time and driving away with it...
