I saw a news report from the recent Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas that showed a hydrogen fuel cell system for power generation. I know this may be a ways off, but does anyone think this technology might work for marine applications? Here's the link if you want to take a look:

Looks like they are working on systems for larger applications now and are already selling to first responders, military and people with remote office needs.

Interesting stuff.

I like it. It sure seems like a great alternative to a generator. A bit pricey yes but once you consider the savings in gas to run the genny this may not be a bad deal. I am at least going to get some solar chargers for sure but they're just for some battery maintenance

I'm still not comfortable with the whole hydrogen thing. I know it gets safer each day as the technology comes forth... but..... BOOM!

Speaking of, how much gas does yours use?

Mine seemed to use just under 1/2 gallon per hour with everything turned on - Kohler 5.0 and 14,500 BTU (I think?) heat pump - 340 Da.
