We took the boat for a one-hour run yesterday with the throttles set right at 1,000 rpm's with the synchronizer on.  When we arrived at the destination the port engine would not throttle down below the 1,000 rpm point. I didn't try to force it, but I couldn't push the port throttle lever down any further than where it would be at 1,000.

This morning I fired it up and it went right to the normal rpm range at idle, around 650.

Any thoughts on what might have made the throttle stick and what I might do to prevent it from happening again? (BTW, it's never done that before)
