I was trying to open the hatch on my 32 sea ray when I noticed that the down switch and the up switch were just clicking and nothing happened. I did notice that the back companinway door was open, so I closed it. When I attempted to down the hatch it worked. My question is, is the closing of the hatch monitered through the system, in other words if the aft companion way door is not secure will the hatch fail to raise or be lowered?

Look on the edge of the door and you will see a little sensor the size of a dime. It is a magnet that completes a circuit the tells the system that is safe to lift the hatch. (just like a house alarm)

BTW, make sure your refridgerator door is closed when opening the hatch.. Don't ask how I know this :smt009

I have a 2004 320 and the door in the transom has a sensor in it which matches up with another sensor in the port side of the boat. When you open the door and latch it the hatch will open and close properly. If it is not latched back and the sensor does not read this the hatch will not open.

Thanks to all who have answered, this makes me feel better, I did notice that I heard a clicking sound comming from the wall of the bulk head, I wonder if this clicking has to do with the door latch not being closed properly. At any rate I feel a whole lat better. As I was going to pull the hydraulic listf off to lower the hatch. Now I know. Thanks again. Also Does it take a lot of pink anti freeze in the water tank to fill the lines i the 320. I used about 6 gallons and the water pump seems to keep running.( I bypassed the hot water heater.) I will add another 2-3 gallons and see if this will stop the water pump from running continuesly.

I did that on my 320, crunch!!!

Too funny Rocket! I was very close to experiencing that same thing Monday, while removing everything from the boat in the wonderful snow we had in MSP...
