Having a strange situation with my starboard unit. I was out 2 weeks ago and cruising at roughly 2900RPM. Trans started slipping and wouldn’t engage F or R. I let it sit for roughly 10 minutes as I limped back on the port unit. When I tried it again, it worked fine. Got back to the dock and the fluid wasn’t even registering on the dipstick. Held 3 quarts to fill it so it was significantly low. Went back out and the same thing happened about 5 minutes into the run. Pulled the dipstick this time and had strawberry milkshake in the unit. I drained the unit (from the hole in the filter housing), changed the trans cooler, cleaned out the trans lines, changed the filter and refilled it. Yesterday was the first chance I had to test it. It worked flawlessly for roughly 20-30 minutes on plane. When I started throttling down, it’s like the unit just lost it’s pulling power. I turned it off and limped back. Started it back up after 10 minutes and drove back at roughly 1400RPM and had zero issues at that speed. I had to leave when I got back to the marina so I didn’t get to pull the dipstick to check the fluid but will this week some time. I spoke with Chris at Hales Marine and he said he thinks the pump is going bad. I just don’t understand how that could be the case if it ran solid for almost half a hour and didn’t give any issue at all until I started slowing down. Im no transmission expert at all and do know that he knows his stuff. I was mainly just looking for a second opinion from anyone that may have had similar issues. Thanks in advance!

Looking now, I probably should’ve put this in the section for gas engines/transmissions.
